Most people don’t eat enough greens or eat breakfast. With this delicious smoothie, you can feed two birds with one piece of bread! This drink alone shouldn’t replace your breakfast but its better than no breakfast at all. I usually make this smoothie for the Warrior Urbndervish, who still eats one large meal a day.
At least in this smoothie, he’s getting some fruits and a good boost of iron from the Spirulina before he starts his day. Spirulina is a great superfood. It’s actually a form of algae, so its rich in vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll.
Some call it “Nature’s Multivitamin”. Don’t be intimidated! Once the spirulina is all blended up in fruity bliss, you’ll hardly notice its taste though its color will remind you of how oh-so-good it is for you. Enjoy!
1 cup of orange juice
1 tsp. of spirulina
1 tbsp. of ground flax seeds
1 tbsp. of honey or 2 tbsp. of pre-soaked dates
Blend thoroughly and drink heartily! 😉
